Heirloom Seeds.

Our main focus on the farm is saving rare genetics. This doesn't mean just animal genetics, but also plant genetics. Both are crucial for preserving and saving our food system. As a whole farming has transitioned into mono cropping single varieties that were bred to produce more and as fast as possible. This seems great in the short term, however all it takes is one disease or weather event to totally wipe all of those plants or animals out. Diversity is key and when you use only one variety of something that diversity is lost along with all of the single rare traits that are attached to those. Those traits in plants could be disease resistance, heat or drought tolerance, cold tolerance, pest resistance, the list goes on. So here at our farm we are striving to bring back some of these rare genetics and attempt to get them back in the hands of farmers and back yard hobbyist.
