Cow pea Heirloom mix

$4.00

Although called a pea, it is actually a bean. Both peas and beans are legumes, and both have edible seeds and pods. Most people know these as black eyed peas, but that is only one variety in a family that consists of many varieties. Cow peas being a bean can be used in many of the same dishes. It is often known for its use in southern cooking with a common dish being succotash. They are easy to grow and do well in dry hot summer conditions. All of the seed that we grow and sell are from non-hybrid heirloom varieties that are all non gmo and open pollinated. All of our seed saving work is done by hand without machines so you will get some plant material and chaff in with the seed. All seed packets have been made from recycled magazines. Approximately 25 seeds per packet.
